CAL I:

The Certified Agile Leadership- I (CAL-1) modules aim to cultivate awareness and comprehension of the fundamental aspects of agile leadership. Through these modules, you’ll delve into agile leaders’ mindsets, priorities, and actions. By emphasizing agile leadership essentials, you’ll be empowered to confidently navigate the path to agile leadership and effectively drive agile transformation within your organization.

The Course Covers Primarily four broader areas

1. The Case for Agile Leadership

2. Agile Leadership in Action

3. Leading Agile Teams

4. Leading Agile Organizations

 

CAL II:

The Scrum Alliance Certified Agile Leadership (CAL) program is a unique three-part education and practice-based program to develop agile leadership competence and maturity. Increase your effectiveness and learn how to be a better leader, no matter your role. CAL II is an advanced education, validated practice, and peer-based sharing program that consists of learning and training across three categories (Leadership in an Agile Context, The Agile Organization, and Agile Approaches to Change). The goal of CAL II is to guide leaders in deepening, applying, and sharing their agile leadership learning.   Participants enrolling in Advanced Agile Leadership are committed to putting effort, including an ability to write an Agile Leadership Report.

CAL I:

All participants completing the Certified Agile Leadership- I course will receive CAL-1 from Scrum Alliance.

 

CAL II:

CAL II focuses on three categories defined in the CAL I program:

● Leadership in an Agile Context

● The Agile Organization

● Agile Approaches to Change

 

Step 1:

CAL II Advanced Education Complete a Scrum Alliance Certified Agile Leadership II program with a Scrum Alliance Certified Educator via coaching and mentoring for at least 16 hours.

 

Step 2:

CAL II Validated Practice Document and share your experience in a CAL II Experience Report, similar to a case study. One report is required for each of the categories:

● Leadership in an Agile Context

● The Agile Organization

● Agile Approaches to Change

You must be able to write and submit a report to the CAL-II Educator to move on to Step 3

Step 3:

CAL II Peer Workshop: Participate in a facilitated, peer-based workshop with others in the program. Share at least one of your CAL II Advanced Practice reports with your cohorts, then discuss, analyze, and share feedback for mutual learning. Each participant will present one of their three advanced practices in the workshop. A Scrum Alliance-approved Educator will facilitate workshops which may be run in person or via multiple short sessions.

 

All Certified Agile Leadership II course participants will receive CAL Credential from Scrum Alliance [ Please note CAL is the Credential awarded as a result of CAL II woorkshop] after submitting an experience report and after approval from CAL-Educator on their Agile Leadership journey. Your certifications may be delayed at the discretion of your educator.

Please note that this is not a Framework Workshop but for someone to deepen the craft of Agile Leadership and lead Transformation

 

CAL II:

CAL II is often a year-long journey with deep dives into personal agility and leadership development. CAL II requires an active combination of two or more of CAL-E, CAL-T, or CAL-O (or CAL I), as well as successful completion of the following:

  • Advanced Education  –  additional education on a unique leadership development topic, customized to your learning journey and mentored alongside an approved CAL Educator.
  • Validated Practice  –  taking your new skills and insights and putting them into practice back at work. Document and share your experience in a CAL II Experience Report, similar to a case study.
  • Peer-based  –  share in cohorts and networks from around the globe, meet and share with other leaders at global organizations and learn together. Take part in a facilitated, peer-based workshop with others in the program. Share at least one of your CAL II Advanced Practice reports with your cohorts, then discuss, analyze, and share feedback for mutual learning. Maintain your Certified Agile Leader certification by earning Scrum Education Units ®  (SEUs) and renewing your certification every two years.


CAL I:

CAL participants vary by professional background and work experience. However, the common thread is their desire to enhance their workplaces (and their customers’ workplaces) with agile values, practices, and metrics. This program is for anyone leading or participating in an agile transformation.

 

CAL II:

The CAL program is intended for…

● Executives, middle management, and other leaders with organizational influence

● Leaders who support, lead, or interact with agile teams

● Any leader is sponsoring, requesting, or involved with agile transformation within their organization.

● It is also beneficial for anyone that is Scaling Transformation efforts including [ Organisational Re-design & Descaling]
